What a credit buys
Only actions that cost us something use credits. Running on your own machine never does. In plain terms: for 2¢ a cloud run replays up to 20 website tests with no AI, and for 10¢ our AI writes a test once.
- Writing a test with our AI: 10 credits, +5 per 15 steps over 15. With your own AI key it costs 0 credits.
- A 40-step test written with our AI: 20 credits (20¢).

Each browser or device of a run is its own run. A run's price is reserved when it starts and settled from the tests that actually ran; a run that can't start because of us costs nothing.
Top-ups
Anyone can top up, from $7: 100 credits per dollar, usable for 12 months. Subscribers get +20% / +25% / +30% on every top-up (Solo Dev, Pro Dev, Team).

Questions
What is a credit?
One cent of cloud or AI work. A cloud run of up to 20 website tests is 2 credits; writing a test with our AI is 10 (longer tests: 10 credits, +5 per 15 steps over 15). Your plan's credits arrive each month and don't roll over; top-up credits last 12 months, and are used after the month's plan credits, oldest first.
What happens when I run out?
On Free, cloud actions stop until next month or a top-up, and local runs keep working. On a paid plan you're told at 80% and 100%, and a buffer of 10% of your monthly credits keeps PR checks running; it's repaid from your next top-up or renewal. Opt-in automatic top-ups keep you going, with a monthly cap you choose. No surprise bills.
Are local runs really free?
Yes, forever and unlimited. Running tests on your computer or in your own CI, with the CLI or the GitHub Action, never uses credits, and neither does writing tests with your own AI key. See costs and budgets.
What is "Cloud (your own key)"?
Our cloud, with your AI key. You bring a key from your AI provider and AI features use it, so writing a test costs 0 credits; the 1,000 monthly credits go on cloud runs and Android. It costs $5 a month or $50 a year, and everything else is the same as Solo Dev. It has no top-up bonus.
Can I just buy credits instead of a subscription?
Yes. Stay on Free and top up from $7 when you need credits; they last 12 months. Compared to a plan you get fewer credits per dollar, one cloud run at a time, results kept 7 days, and no safety buffer when credits run out.The details.
Is there a seat price?
No. Plans differ only in credits, parallel runs, how long results are kept, collaboration (Team), and cloud CLI runs, coming soon to paid plans.
